Grew up in Allentown, Pa and went to 12 years of Catholic Schooling.  In High School in my junior and senior year, I played Volleyball.  I played as a player/coach on a team that went to the 1978 National Junior Olympics in Fort Collins Colorado where a bronze medal was won and I was honored with the MVP award.  Went to college to play volleyball at East Stroudsburg University where my senior year we were rank nationally at number 12.  We fell short losing in a quarter final match to Princeton that was our only loss that season and became a crossroads in my career.  I decided to pursue golf as a career and moved to Florida in 1985.   I had been working in golf to have money through college, so the career is traced back to 1978 when my dad facilitated my first golf job at Allentown Municipal.  My career in golf gained momentum when I joined a management group in 1990.  I started opening several courses with GT of Orlando that includes many courses in Central Florida.  My biggest turn in golf came when I joined Billy Casper Golf in1999.  This took me back to the NE and soon found me as a Regional Manager for the company.  My career with them has been to open new courses or turning courses in trouble around. I did this up till I made the decision to come back to Florida. This was fueled by the fact that my children were all in Florida and when the position came open at Ocala Golf Club I immediately applied.  I hope to make Ocala my last stop and spend the rest of my career here.  I became part of the Marion County Junior Golf board at the invitation of Steve Albright.  I believe that our program will reach out to juniors that may not think golf is an option and let them experience what the spirit of the game is.  Golf is about character and it teaches our youth how to succeed in a fun, safe and enjoyable atmosphere.

As an avid golfer since I was a small child, I have always loved the game of golf. Many of the lessons learned in the sport can be carried over to the game of life, and that is an invaluable experience for young children. I love working with kids and an organization as great as Marion County Junior Golf! I am looking forward to bringing my advertising expertise and love of the game to the organization to help make this the best organization around!

Former LPGA Tour player

Special Olympics golf coach

Marion County Junior Golf Association Teaching Pro

My aspirations and goals are to grow the game of golf by teaching every aspect of golf to juniors (especially girls) in
Marion County. My goal is to make learning the game fun and attractive.

At age eight I finally began learning the game. We moved to Ocala in 1977. My dad, Nick, a PGA member accepted the
job as Head pro at Silver Springs Shores CC. At age eighteen my dad and I decided turning pro was a good idea. That
summer I had the lead in the first round of the Women’s US Open with a round of 69 and finished tied for twelfth. I played
on the LPGA tour for 20 years (1977-1997), competing in 101 tournaments with an all time earnings of $300,364. My best
finish was in 1988, a 2nd place finish at the Greater Washington Open where I shot 64 (my lowest score). I lost by
one shot to Ayoko Okamoto and tied with Beth Daniel for 2nd place.

When I retired I joined the LPGA Teaching and Club Professional Division and began teaching locally in Ocala for
a few years. My next job began in 2001 at Inwood CC in New York. After two years I left my job because my dad’s health
was declining, which was making it difficult for him to care for my sister Toni Marie who has Down Syndrome. After a few
years I was hired at Edgewood CC, in Rivervale, NJ. Both of those teaching jobs were seasonal, teaching eight months
and home for four.

One of my amatuer accomplishments was at the Ocala Municipal Golf Course in 1973. It was one of my three
consecutive high school individual state championships.

My lowest score from the men’s tee at Ocala Golf Club is 66.
